Cleveland County Amateur Radio Service or CCARS, is located in Shelby, NC. We welcome all hams and non hams alike. Our goal is to help those interested in ham radio to get started with whatever their interests are. Most new hams are lost when it comes to all the different aspects of our hobby and we are here to help. We have members who are very active in the emergency services aspect of amateur radio including ARES and SKYWARN as well as Fox Hunting. Maybe your interest lies in the Digital Modes such as PSK31. There is also the National Traffic System that uses hams to route information worldwide. Maybe you just need help understanding what all these things are and what all is available in this great hobby.
